Flory / Pendergast Farm Cemetery

Located about one mile S.W. of Oswego in Plain Township,
Kosciusko Co., IN is the Flory / Pendergast Farm cemetery.
It contains the graves of ten early residents of the area.
Around 1970 the then new owners of the land found the
stones piled against a large tulip tree. They arranged the
stones in their present location out of harm's way. This
cemetery is located on private property. Permission
must be obtained before visiting it.

Mershon-Warsaw stone signature
Something not seen elsewhere by this cemetery census taker appears on the
broken bottom half of Catharine Gates's stone. Near or just below the ground
level on the lower section is a signature. Inscribed is "Mershon" with a second line
of "Warsaw". We will leave it to you to decide if it is an advertisement or the
stonecutter simply signing his work.
